Britni Proulx
Licensed Marriage Family Therapist
#100800
Britni Proulx is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist who attended Azusa Pacific University and graduated with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. Britni went for further training and certification in EMDR, a modality used to treat patients struggling with Trauma which is recognized by the WHO, American Psychiatric Association, and the US Department of Defense. Britni has a passion working with adults as they navigate life's challenges such as family conflict, relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma, depression, and anxiety.
Britni has over 11 years experience working with children and families and has worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community mental health agencies, residential treatment centers, and private practice. Britni's treatment orientation includes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, along with Emotionally and Trauma Focused Therapy.
Since a young age, Britni has always strived to help others in need. As she developed, she recognized there are many ways to help others in need and that a common theme across society, generations and cultures was the absence of feeling heard and seen by either loved ones, family members, colleagues or friends. Britni's belief is that we all share, at some level, an understanding of what it feels like to carry trauma within ourselves. This trauma can be a big event which occurred or could perhaps be an accumulation of pieces of trauma along the way which have contributed to our negative beliefs we carry about ourselves. Today she prides herself in equipping her patients with the tools to effectively communicate and relate with those around them and to feel long lasting inner peace.
